What is Streaming Media?

Streaming Media is the term used to describe content that is transmitted over the World Wide Web at real-time. It is different from other types of delivery because it downloads the content from an off-site location, plays it over an electronic device, then transmits the content continuously across a network. It lets users watch and listen to media and not wait for the media to fully download, which could take up to hours.

Streaming Media also offers features like fast-forwarding, rewinding and pausing. The program also lets users skip certain parts of content or play back them at anytime. As with other video formats that are able to be played back in order of data transmission, this means that content is delivered and received based on connectivity to the network. In Jurassic World1 , Streaming Media gained enormous popularity thanks to new technologies that improved the speed of networks. The improvements in network speed and bandwidth are essential to allow Streaming Media to function effectively.
